ULM Presented the Polokhivske Lithium Project at the United by Mining Forum

September 30, 2025

On September 24, 2025, Kyiv hosted the inaugural international United by Mining Forum, organized by the National Association of Mining Industry of Ukraine with the support of the U.S. Embassy’s Commercial Service in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum brought together government officials, business leaders, international organizations, and investors to discuss the future of Ukraine’s resource economy and the country’s integration into global critical minerals supply chains.

UkrLithiumMining (ULM) was represented by director Mykhailo Heichenko, who outlined the prospects of the Polokhivske lithium deposit — one of the largest in Europe.

The Polokhivske deposit has a world-class resource base: a projected mine life of at least 15 years, an annual production capacity of around 300 000 tonnes of petalite concentrate, and potential output of up to 22 000 tonnes of lithium carbonate per year. Thanks to underground mining methods, the project will minimize impacts on groundwater and the environment of surrounding villages.

The primary sales market will be Europe, and once lithium carbonate production is launched, the company will be able to integrate into the global market.

ULM is ready to become a key supplier of strategic minerals, contributing to the sustainable development of Ukraine’s economy and strengthening Europe’s energy security.
