June 18, 2024

Denys Aloshyn, Chief Strategy Officer of ULM, took part in a roundtable discussion on Critical Raw Materials: Opportunities in Ukraine and Ukraine’s Potential Role in European Value Chains at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.

Experts and industry representatives discussed opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian mining and metals industry and its importance for Europe. In particular, Ukraine, in cooperation with its European partners, should play a key role in ensuring the EU’s independence from Russia in the area of critical raw materials.

The participants of the roundtable in Berlin noted that Ukraine has a significant potential in the field of strategic raw materials, and to realize it in full, it needs government support and strategic investments to develop new deposits. This will help strengthen Ukraine’s economy and position in the European supply chain of critical materials.

In the near future, ULM plans to apply for the status of “strategically important” for the Polokhivske lithium deposit project under the EU legislative initiative,” said Denys Aloshyn.
